Ledger infrastructure for platforms that move money

Ledfra is the accounting layer for platforms that move money. It is a developer-first, double-entry ledger you can build on through an API and operate through a web app — with real-time balances, audit-ready reports, and zero reconciliation debt.

Why we built it

Most teams start by tracking money in the same tables that run their product: a balance column here, a payouts table there. It works until it doesn't. Numbers drift, a refund double-counts, and finance loses a week tracking down why a report is three cents off. Month-end turns into an all-nighter because every figure is stitched together by hand from sources that were never meant to agree.

We built Ledfra so that any product holding, moving, or owing money on behalf of other people has a system of record that is always correct and always explainable — without having to become an accounting company to get there.

What we believe

  • Correctness comes first. Ledfra is a financial system, so we are conservative by design. Double-entry is enforced at the API boundary — you literally cannot record an unbalanced transaction.
  • One source of truth. Every balance and report is derived live from the ledger, so there is never a debate about which number is right.
  • Built for engineers, loved by accountants. A small REST API, idempotent writes, an OpenAPI spec, and sandboxes mean you can post your first transaction in an afternoon — and your finance team gets reports they can trust.

How we work

Ledfra is built and maintained as a focused, pragmatic product rather than a sprawling platform. We favor clarity over cleverness, reuse over abstraction, and shipping correct software over chasing scope. That discipline is the same reason the ledger underneath stays trustworthy.
